FAQs
What is the difference between the Online Pathway and the Hybrid Pathway?
UCAPP now offers two pathway options for students to choose from: the Online Pathway and the Hybrid Pathway.
Both pathways take two years to complete and consist of 30 credits. Both also include the key components that make UCAPP unique: a cohort model, bringing together a group of students for all courses for the duration of the program; a hands-on, customized internship; and access to mentors and leadership coaches.
The Online Pathway is 100% online instruction, beginning every spring semester. The Hybrid Pathway's summer classes are primarily online, with fall and spring class sessions 50% online and 50% in person. The Hybrid Pathway begins every summer semester. All courses are the same across the two pathways, just in a slightly different sequence (see the Plans of Study page).
Can I transfer into UCAPP?
Because the cohort experience is essential to our leadership development model, we do not accept transfers.
Is UCAPP the right program for me if my goal is to obtain a school leadership position in curriculum, special education, or special program?
Many of our graduates currently serve in district leadership roles, but our focus in UCAPP is to prepare qualified and capable principals. We believe the school-level leadership perspective is important to successful district-level leadership.
Can I complete my internship in my current school or assignment?
Internships may be completed at your home school, or where you work. An optional external placement at a site outside of your home school and/or district can be arranged upon request.
